Leo XIV appoints military bishop who wants to “make a different Church”, and is open to female deacons and Communion for homosexuals. On September 14, Leo XIV has appointed Bishop Pedro Luis Fuentes Valencia, 58, as Military Ordinary for Bolivia. The Passionist bishop has served as apostolic administrator of the Military Ordinary since 2022, alongside his duties as auxiliary bishop of La Paz. "Synodality Is Nature of Church" In October 2023 he spoke of having “the courage to build a different kind of church”. In June 2024, he defined synodality as “the very nature of the Church”. In July 2024, he repeated: “The Synod on Synodality is a way of being the Church.” And: “This is the Church’s identity: listening to one another, sharing, walking together, maturing together, growing together,” Communion for Homosexuals In October 2023, Monsignor Fuentes spoke about Holy Communion …Më shumë
The British Prime Minister, Andy Burnham, has transferred to the Lord Chancellor the constitutional responsibility of advising the monarch on certain ecclesiastical appointments and has announced that his Government will introduce legal reform to remove the restrictions that prevent him from doing so because he professes the Catholic faith. The decision was announced by Burnham himself in a written statement presented to the British Parliament on 10 September. The restrictions originate from two nineteenth-century texts: the Roman Catholic Relief Act of 1829 and the Jews Relief Act of 1858. Both laws lifted at the time a large part of the civil disabilities that weighed on Catholics and Jews in the United Kingdom, but retained one exception: neither may directly or indirectly advise the sovereign on certain ecclesiastical appointments of the Church of England and the Church of Scotland. The prohibition appears, for Catholics, in section 18 of the 1829 Act. The law also establishes …Më shumë
“Conservative” Auxiliary Bishop Josef Graf of Regensburg, Germany, can envision ordaining married men to the priesthood. Monsignor Graf made this remarks during a holiday in San Genesio, South Tyrol, where he also helped with the grape harvest in a local vineyard. He told Bz-bx.net: “I personally believe that the Church could afford viri probati”. He added that married priests would probably not solve the shortage of priests. On the ordination of women to the priesthood, Monsignor Graf said he believes it is “not possible.” He pointed there are “still” weighty theological reasons for reserving Holy Orders to men. #newsAdwjzpyvzr
A Massachusetts family says the state took custody of their teenage daughter after they refused to affirm her as a boy, citing their Catholic faith. The parents allege a school counselor socially transitioned their daughter without their knowledge, then reported them to the Department of Children and Families. Now the state has guardianship, and a restraining order prevents the teen's parents and older brother from contacting her. A judge has temporarily blocked the state from administering high-dose testosterone as the family fights the case. The next court hearing is set for Oct. 29.
The FSSPX makes its annual pilgrimage to Einsiedeln, but its procession remains on public ground. The Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X (FSSPX) makes an annual Rosary pilgrimage to the famous Swiss monastery of Einsiedeln. This year’s pilgrimage takes place on October 10, but the public prayer procession is held only on public ground. Organised by the FSSPX-associated Militia Immaculatae, the procession has been held annually since 2021. Around 750 people participated in 2025. The distinction over where it takes place is significant. The lower part of the square in front of Einsiedeln Abbey, including the Marian fountain and the area up to the monastery arcades, belongs to the District of Einsiedeln and is public property. The upper part belongs to the monastery. The district has authorised the procession on its property. Fr. Philipp Steiner told kath.ch that the abbey had not been asked for permission and had only recently been informed of this year’s event. He stressed that “Einsiedeln …Më shumë

A woman found the dress while going through her mother’s closet after she was gone. Her mother was no longer there. But the dress was. It hung pressed between an old winter coat and another jacket that had long since gone out of style. The closet was full of clothes that had been mended, altered, worn thin, and carefully kept long after most people would have thrown them away. And there, among all of them, was this dress. It had been wrapped carefully in a clean white sheet. Pale pink. Elegant. Still carrying its original price tag. It was unmistakably from the 1990s, with padded shoulders, gold buttons, and a low back. Old-fashioned now, certainly. But once, it must have looked beautiful. And it was completely new. There was something almost unbearable about that. Her mother was gone, but the dress was still waiting. The daughter tried to remember the occasions when her mother might have worn it. There had been plenty of family gatherings. Her father’s relatives sometimes came to stay …Më shumë
The Visitation nuns are preparing to leave Nevers, France, after more than four centuries. The remaining sisters are emptying their monastery. Furniture, crockery, tables, cupboards and other belongings are being sold in two “vide-couvent” sales, on September 12 and 19. The departure follows a steep decline in numbers. By early 2025 only four nuns remained. On March 15, 2025 two elderly sisters left. At the time, remaining Sister Marie-Odile stressed that this did not yet mean closure, joking that the priests’ violet vestments were “not those of a funeral.” Eighteen months later, the disposal of the convent’s contents signals the community’s approaching departure. The exact date on which the last sisters will leave has not been announced, nor has the future of the building. The Visitation Order was founded in Annecy in 1610 by St Francis de Sales and St Jane Frances de Chantal. Visitandines established a monastery in Nevers in 1620, making it one of the order’s earliest foundations. …Më shumë
Toronto Archdiocese cracks down on the traditional Latin Masses. Cardinal Francis Leo of Toronto, Canada, is implementing 'Traditionis Custodes', effective next Sunday. VoxCantor.blogspot.com published a terrifying detail: One Sunday per month, the Novus Ordo must be said. At the parish St. Vincent, the old high altar will be used. At the parish Holy Family the Novus Ordo will be presided over with the back to God facing the people. And: No other sacraments are permitted according to the 1962 usage. There are four major parish churches in the Archdiocese of Toronto celebrating the Roman rite: - St. Lawrence the Martyr Parish — Scarborough - St. Patrick’s Parish — Schomberg - Holy Family Parish — Toronto - St. Vincent de Paul Parish — Toronto The Masses at Schomberg and Scarborough have existed for over 40 years. All four parishes have sufficient Novus Ordo Eucharists in various languages. The numbers are interesting, too. At these four Masses and two celebrated by the Priestly Fraternity …Më shumë
A monk once asked his teacher how he had learned to remain so calm and at peace. The teacher smiled. “Let me tell you a story. “When I was young, I had a small boat. I loved taking it out onto a quiet lake, far from everyone, where I could be alone with my thoughts. I would sit there for hours, letting the boat drift while I enjoyed the silence. “One day, I was sitting with my eyes closed, meditating, when suddenly another boat crashed into mine. “I immediately became angry. “Who was careless enough to interrupt my peace like that? “I opened my eyes, ready to yell at whoever had hit me. “But the other boat was empty. “There was no one to blame. No one to argue with. No one to receive my anger. “So what could I do? “I closed my eyes again and returned to the quiet inside myself. “That empty boat became one of my greatest teachers.” The monk listened carefully. The teacher continued: “Since that day, whenever someone insults me, annoys me, or tries to provoke me, I remind myself: ‘This …Më shumë
Leo XIV increases salaries for cardinals and senior Vatican officials. Today, Leo XIV has abolished the pay cuts introduced by Francis in 2021. Francis had ordered a 10% salary cut for cardinals working for the Holy See and an 8% reduction for senior officials and curial secretaries as the Vatican faced financial difficulties. Other clergy and religious employees initially faced a 3% cut, which was abolished in 2025. Leo XIV’s new motu proprio, effective September 1, abrogates the 2021 decree in its entirety. He claimed the measures had been necessary due to the “exceptional challenge of the pandemic,” but could now be superseded as the Holy See and Vatican City pursue economic sustainability “through different instruments.” #newsRxifznfisa
Leo XIV has Vatican building constructed to accumulate more and more things. In a chirograph issued today, Leo XIV has announced a new building inside Vatican City for the Apostolic Archive and Library. The vast and growing collections have exhausted existing storage capacity. Leo XIV cites the “considerable increase” in the Holy See’s bibliographical holdings and documentary output. No budget, architect, building dimensions, construction timetable or completion date has been announced. The complex will rise in the Fontana dell’Autoparco area. Space will be divided equitably between the Archive and Library, with part reserved for other Vatican City services. The decision modifies a plan approved by Francis in 2024, which envisaged new storage in the extraterritorial Lateran area. The scale is enormous: the Apostolic Archive holds more than 600 archival fonds spanning roughly 12 centuries and over 85 km of shelving. The Library preserves around 180,000 manuscripts and archival documents …Më shumë
14.09.2026 VATICAN COUNCIL II IS FEENEYITE FOR THE WHOLE CHURCH. VATICAN COUNCIL II SAYS OUTSIDE THE CATHOLIC CHURCH THERE IS NO SALVATION. AI AGREES. 10.09.2026 THE RATIONAL INTERPRETATION OF VATICAN COUNCIL II AD GENTES 7 7. This missionary activity derives its reason from the will of God, "who wishes all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, Himself a man, Jesus Christ, who gave Himself as a ransom for all" (1 Tim. 2:45), "neither is there salvation in any other" (Acts 4:12). Therefore, all must be converted to Him, made known by the Church's preaching, and all must be incorporated into Him by baptism and into the Church which is His body. For Christ Himself "by stressing in express language the necessity of faith and baptism (cf. Mark 16:16; John 3:5), at the same time confirmed the necessity of the Church, into which men enter by baptism, as by a door. Therefore those men cannot be saved, who though …Më shumë
