The captions are so horrible I was thinking, this looks like the work of youtube/google. Right after I thought that, this is what I read.. They are so horrible I have been tempted not to finish it. What they do to videos is a shame. It seems they don't care for deaf people at all. One of my speakers went out and I have a fan on which is loud. I also live near a highway. Just one house from it! So I usually put on captions when I can't hear a video. And that's what I end up with. Worse, this video is from Formed. NOT youtube!

Today, Leo XIV has appointed Monsignor Cesare Di Pietro as the new bishop of the Diocese of Locri-Gerace in Calabria.
Born in Messina on March 12, 1964, he was ordained a priest in 1997.

Dozens of minors were rescued during an operation in which investigators posed as teenage girls in online chat rooms
Hundreds of suspected child predators have been apprehended and dozens of minors rescued in a sweeping multi-agency crackdown across Southern California targeting internet-facilitated child exploitation, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has said.
A total of 341 suspects were arrested and 40 minors rescued during Operation Firewall, which was spearheaded by the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and ran from April 19 through May 3 across Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties.
According to a Thursday press release by the LAPD, the operation was aimed at “identifying and apprehending predators who use the internet to facilitate the sexual exploitation and abuse of children.”

In biology, there is a process which we, as the Church and above all as priests, would do well to observe carefully: a healthy body knows how to let die what is killing it. It is called cellular apoptosis, and it is one of the most extraordinary mechanisms in our organism. It is defined as “programmed cell death”: when a cell is damaged, corrupted or ceases to work for the good of the whole, the body itself recognises it and eliminates it. It does not hide it, it does not transfer it to another tissue, it does not cover it up hoping it will heal on its own. It expels it. It is the body saying to that cell: “You must go, because you are becoming a danger to me”. When this mechanism breaks down, and damaged cells remain where they are and begin to multiply, a tumour develops. A healthy organism does not protect what makes it ill: it lets it go. This is how, and only how, the life of the whole is preserved.

All Ontario school boards should fly only the Canadian flag like the Dufferin-Peel Catholic Board

Presently, the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board (DPCDSB) prohibits outdoor flagpole displays except for the Canadian flag, the Ontario flag and the board or school flag. The provincial governemnt has mandated that schools also fly the orange for "Every Child Matters" flag to mark Truth and Reconciliation Day.
No other flag is to be flown, even though Ontario school boards fly the pride flag during the month June. The DPCDSB is actually doing the right thing in not flying the pride flag and setting a proper example.
This coming Tuesday, May 26, at at a special Board meeting the issue of flying the pride flag is on the agenda. And there are those who want to change the policy.
