Kobieta została skazana tylko za to, że odradziła na forum internetowym korzystanie z usług ginekologa, który chciał zabić jej nienarodzone dziecko. Lekarz ten proponował jej aborcję, twierdząc, że dziecko urodzi się z zespołem Downa. Ostatecznie urodziła zdrowego synka, a lekarz nie poniósł żadnej odpowiedzialności karnej. Pani Weronika natomiast została ukarana za opinię, w której wyraziła sprzeciw wobec jego działań. Sąd w Gdańsku skazał kobietę na 60 godzin prac społecznych oraz karę finansową, a także zobowiązał do przeprosin.
