Transalpine Redemptorists and the Purgatorian Archconfraternity
Note: Catholic Family News Editor John Vennari interviews Father Michael Mary, founder and superior of the Transalpine Redemptorists, about the religious community and the re-establishment of the Puragatorian Archconfraternity.
J. Vennari: Father Michael Mary when did you become a Redemptorist?
Father Michael Mary: At the age of seventeen I entered the Redemptorists and was professed at the end of my novitiate in 1972. I did the course of studies provided by the province to which I belonged and was duly ordained a Redemptorist priest in August 1978. After that time I preached missions and was also attached to the Ukrainian Byzantine rite.
J. Vennari: How were the Transalpine Redemptorists founded?
Father Michael Mary: In March 1987 I arrived at Econe in Switzerland, having been sent to meet Archbishop Lefebvre by a priest of the Society of St. Pius X. I had been studying the important subject of the New and Old Mass since …Has köp

Leo XIV-Appointed Archbishop at the UN wants to get rid of free speech.
The new Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations, Archbishop Christophe El-Kassis, delivered his first address at the UN on September 17.
The Archbishop rejected “every form of intolerance, discrimination, and hate speech”. And: “Any hate speech - directed at either individuals or communities because of their religion, race, nationality, or any other characteristic - goes against the commandment to love one’s neighbor.”
He believes, it “poisons public discourse, inflames division, and too often prepares the ground for violence and persecution.”
Words that intentionally provoke hatred “cannot claim the protection of liberty.”
Leo XIV appointed Monsignor El-Kassis to the United Nations in July.

Shannon Holmes is a movement therapist who used to help people with physiotherapy before she took the Covid vaccine.
After the shot her legs began tingling and vibrating and she knew something was terribly wrong.
After seeking medical help the doctor said she’s a “giant medical question mark” she was then told to just go home.
Her pain started getting worse, spreading throughout her entire body.
That evening she felt like she was being electrocuted.
The video shows how she felt like she was being uncontrollably “pulled”
She is in constant pain now, it’s been 5 years and there’s no end in sight.
The Canadian government and health authorities have done absolutely nothing to help her.
Please share her story!!

The home of Cardinal Ernest Simoni, 97, in Florence was burgled while he was in Britain.
The Albanian cardinal was received by King Charles III at Balmoral Castle on September 15. According to Corriere.it, thieves targeted the Curia-owned apartment in Piazza Duomo where Simoni lives with his nephew Tonin and his family.
When his nephew called with the news, the cardinal’s first concern was not the money: “Did they leave the statue of Our Lady of Medjugorje? And Padre Pio?”
Told both were untouched, Simoni replied simply: “Allora poco male” - “Then, little harm done.”
The burglars smashed through a wall with chisels, forced open an armoured door and ransacked wardrobes, boxes and luggage, leaving their tools on the landing.
The haul, estimated at €30,000, included cash, gold, jewellery, medals and a gold seal. Strangely, Simoni’s residence permit was also taken.
Tonin and his wife had left around 1 p.m. and returned at 11 p.m. to find the apartment ransacked. Tonin believes the family …Has köp

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 8,4-15.
When a large crowd gathered, with people from one town after another journeying to Jesus, he spoke in a parable.
A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some seed fell on the path and was trampled, and the birds of the sky ate it up.
Some seed fell on rocky ground, and when it grew, it withered for lack of moisture.
Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew with it and choked it.
And some seed fell on good soil, and when it grew, it produced fruit a hundredfold." After saying this, he called out, "Whoever has ears to hear ought to hear."
Then his disciples asked him what the meaning of this parable might be.
He answered, "Knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of God has been granted to you; but to the rest, they are made known through parables so that 'they may look but not see, and hear but not understand.'
This is the meaning of the parable. The seed is the word of God.
Those on the path are the ones who …Has köp

Bishop Mutsaerts attacks “angry” Catholic blogs.
Dutch Auxiliary Bishop Rob Mutsaerts — one of the better bishops, who survived a car accident in June — has launched a polemical attack on Catholics who dominate online discourse.
“One can eventually spend so much time fighting modernism that Christ becomes almost incidental,” Mutsaerts writes in a lengthy article on his blog on September 16.
“One can read every day about everything going wrong in Rome and barely open the Gospel. One can receive news of the latest disaster in a dicastery on Facebook within ten minutes and have no idea which saint is commemorated that day.”
“That is not a victory for tradition. It is spiritual distraction.”
Mutsaerts continues: “Read more Augustine than ecclesiastical Twitter. Read more Benedict XVI than angry blogs. Spend longer praying for your bishop than complaining about him.”
Elsewhere, he alleges that Catholics preoccupied with Church politics may not even know the Catechism: “A Catholic who does …Has köp

"Satan Wants Your Family—What Are You Doing About It?" | Doug Barry on the St. Joseph Mindset
"You are the head of the house. You are the first line of defense. What are you doing about it?" Catholic speaker and author Doug Barry joins CatholicTV to share an urgent wake-up call for Catholic husbands and fathers. How can Catholic men overcome spiritual passivity and step up as the protectors and leaders their families need? Longtime evangelist, former Life on the Rock co-host, and founder of Radix, Doug Barry joins This Is the Day to discuss his new book from Ignatius Press, First Line of Defense: Battle-Ready Leadership for the Catholic Man. Doug recounts the unforgettable, convicting encounter with an Irish priest who challenged him early in his marriage to bless his home, wife, and unborn child with holy water and stand guard on the spiritual wall. He breaks down why spiritual authority matters, pointing to Saint Joseph’s prompt obedience to the angel to protect the Holy Family from …Has köp

Cardinal Pietro Parolin: “Russia should not be isolated.”
Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of a conference in Rome on September 16, the Vatican Secretary of State reiterated the Holy See’s case for maintaining direct channels with Moscow as the war in Ukraine continues.
“Russia should not be isolated,” Cardinal Parolin said according to VaticanNews.va. He argued that some form of channel must be maintained “where people can talk to one another”.
Cardinal Parolin admitted that the results of Vatican diplomacy so far have been “rather limited”. Nevertheless, Vatican diplomacy will “continue on our path.”
He also confirmed that Cardinal Matteo Zuppi’s humanitarian mission concerning Ukraine will continue, including returning to Moscow this September.

Jane Allen was suffering from anorexia. She traveled to Colorado seeking treatment. Instead, her doctor offered assisted suicide — a prescription for death. Her father intervened just in time. Jane began to heal — eating again, tapering off morphine. The anorexia clinic dropped her, calling her a “liability.” When Jane chose life, her doctors walked away. Assisted suicide isn’t healthcare. What was Sister Lucia concerned about? communism.
What does the Church teach? communism is a sin and evil.
Who did the Saintly Popes reach out to? The Russian Orthodox.

Anglican Lay-Archbishop Sarah Mullally of Canterbury has revoked an award to Pakistani Muslim scholar Tahir Ashrafi.
The reversal followed mounting online outrage over Ashrafi’s 2007 remarks praising Osama bin Laden as deserving the title “Saifullah” (“Sword of God”) for “waging jihad against infidels.” Ashrafi says his remarks were taken out of context.

As announced by Lambeth Palace of the Archdiocese of Canterbury on its official website, Archbishop Sarah has decided to withdraw the Hubert Walter Prize for Reconciliation and Interfaith Cooperation, which she awarded to Imam Maulana Hafiz M.T.M. Asrafi on September 11 - a decision that caused quite a stir.

The Redemption of Man and the Rejection of “Holy Sex”
A Patristic and Scholastic Disputation Against the Modern Exaltation of Carnal Pleasure
“The first man Adam was made into a living soul; the last Adam into a quickening spirit.”
—1 Corinthians 15:45
Prologue: The Question Before Us
There is a fundamental question which must be asked before we speak of the holiness of sexual pleasure:
What is man?
And immediately after that:
What became of man through the Fall?
For if we begin with fallen man as though his present condition were the standard of human nature, we shall inevitably mistake the wounds of the Fall for the original design of God.
This is precisely the danger in the modern exaltation of sexuality.
The question is no longer merely:
"Is marital intercourse lawful?"
The Catholic tradition already answers that question.
The more profound question is:
"What ought the Christian to desire within the marital act?"
And here a profound difference appears between the ascetical tradition …Has köp

Fatima Keeps Rupnik Mosaic
The Marian shrine of Fátima, Portugal, does not plan to remove or cover its massive Rupnik mosaic. Last year, the Fátima shrine issued a statement saying that it would not remove the mosaic.
The Substack.com-Account The Pillar (September 18) contacted the Fátima shrine again after Rupnik’s mosaics at Lourdes were covered and “was told there is no update to the shrine’s stance.”
There is the prospect of a papal visit to Fátima next year.
Rupnik is facing a canonical trial at the Vatican over credible accusations that he sexually, spiritually, and psychologically abused numerous women. His art, with its big black eyes and characteristic asymmetry, mirrors a warped mind.
Bishop Virgílio Antunes, president of the Portuguese bishops’ conference and chairman of the National Council of the Fátima Shrine, acknowledged that “one cannot separate the artwork from the context and the circumstances in which it was created.” BUT: Neither he nor the bishops’ conference “…Has köp
